Stud fee is a Dundeel

DundeelQueen Elizabeth Stakes hero It's A Dundeel is sure to be popular with breeders after Arrowfield announced his fee for the upcoming breeding season.

It's A Dundeel will stand his freshman season at a fee of $27,500 (inc GST).

The son of High Chaparral was retired on Monday after recording his sixth Group I success 48 hours earlier.

The Murray Baker-trained galloper claimed four of his Group I wins at three over the 2012/13 season when victorious in the Spring Champion Stakes, Randwick Guineas, Rosehill Guineas and Australian Derby.

He returned in his spring four-year-old season to become the only horse to beat star mare Atlantic Jewel when he lowered her colours in the Group I Underwood Stakes before recording his swansong Group I victory at Randwick last Saturday.

A brave performance by O'Marilyn (O'Reilly) in the Group 1 $225,000 The Oaks Stud Manawatu Sires' Produce (1400m) has earned the filly a deserved victory at the elite level on Saturday.

O'Marilyn - Trish DunnellO'Marilyn - Trish DunnellThe daughter of O'Reilly has been among the top two-year-olds this season, finishing third in the $1m Karaka Million when hampered by a falling horse, before finishing a close second in the Group 1 Diamond Stakes, both times behind Vespa (NZ) (Elusive City).

The Stephen McKee trained filly was handed a wide barrier of 12 on Saturday and was forced to race three-wide without cover for regular rider Sam Spratt.

In the home straight, O'Marilyn dashed away from the field at the 200m to open up a break as her stablemate Prince Mambo (NZ) (Thewayyouare) raced home from the rear.

Second Group One Winner for Sebring

criterion championWidden Stud's Sebring added a second Group I winner to his tally at Rosehill on Saturday when top class colt Criterion scored a well-deserved and dominant victory in the ATC Rosehill Guineas over 2000 metres.

A brilliant winner of the Group II ATC Todman Stakes at two, Criterion has been tested over the longer journeys as a three year-old by his trainer David Payne.

Second in the Group I ATC Spring Champion Stakes and fourth in the Group I VRC Victoria Derby last preparation during the spring, Criterion was second in the Group I VRC Australian Guineas at the start of the month and finally cracked it for a win at the elite level in the Rosehill Guineas.

Ridden patiently by Hugh Bowman, Criterion pounced on the leaders down the running and quickly raced away to win by more than three lengths over Thunder Fantasy.

"He's only just maturing now," said David Payne.

"You have to leave him alone in the run and not bustle him.

"He'll be winning the Derby hopefully. From day one we always thought he would be winning at 2000 metres plus."
